Trump, Vance: Moderation Missing, Pope Response (Week 13 News Review)

Whichever administration is in control in the United States today, there is a serious credibility issue.

Both parties, Republican and Democrat, appear to have embraced extremism in all its vile, divisive, toxic forms.

Deportation Enforcement Extremism

The public had witnessed enough of this with President Biden and his team. An endless stream of migration defended by ridiculous lies that nothing could be done to stop the flow, and the reason why nothing could be done was because the proper legislation had not been passed by the Republicans. Thus ran the argument of the VP who hardly ever visited the border, but entrusted the Homeland Security to Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, a person also exhibiting hubris and equivocations.

Now that the immigration flow has stopped, within a month of President Trump assuming office, a new situation arises. In the mad hunt for all the gangsters listed as Foreign Terrorists by Trump through Executive Order, Border Patrol agents and ICE agents are arresting, detaining, and removing suspects without trial, without due process. Graduate students are being removed even though they have Green Cards or are legal residents. Men with tattoos, such as Kilmar Garcia, are being deported to El Salvador and forced to stay at the infamous Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT). President Trump even suggested to El Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele during his visit to the White House on April 14th, that he hopes President Bukele will build more such prisons to hold future deportees and possibly even American criminals.

Obviously Garcia’s case has raised a furor inside the United States, and now he is the poster-child for those marching against Trump’s deportation policies. A key question is whether the Trump Administration will respect the rule of the lower courts and even the Supreme Court on this case, a case that even has Senator Chris Van Hollen of Maryland traveling to El Salvador to locate and meet with Mr. Garcia.

Although Mr. Garcia is now in another detention center inside El Salvador, the Trump Administration obviously sees this as a test case over His Authority. His Word is the Golden Sceptor. If they have to lie to defend their poor judgment over Garcia being a terrorist or gangster, they will, and in fact they already have, just to prove their loyalty to Trump.

During the MAGA campaign, President Trump said they would deport starting with all the gangsters first, not arbitrarily capturing working migrants or Green card holders who participate or support the Palestinian cause. According to legal experts, once inside the United States, irregardless of migration status, that person does have the right to participate in protests and marches, whatever the cause. Trump and his team are very much pro-Zionist, however, so they are labeling all pro-Palestinian protests as anti-Semitic and racist, and increasingly hoping to use this argument and the tenets of such related legislations or executive orders to throw people in prison, force them out of employment, demote them, deport them, etc.

Racism in All Its Ugly Forms

The Austin Metcalf murder (April 2nd) or the “I Did It” admission by Karmelo Anthony is being used to instigate another color revolution, especially by divisive spokespersons with the media. If the murderer admitted that he did it, he should not be out on bail, and there should be no Go Fund Me for him. Monies raised, if they were decent people, would actually go to the family of the deceased for an apology and reparations. But today, the people who programmed this killer to do what he did, rather instinctively, are not culpable since they are malevolent entities from the extraterrestial spheres. Being possessed, they have encouraged a blind obeisance to the ritual “Kill Whitey” of the hip-hop-cool recording industry. Being blind to reason, they cannot even contemplate the shoe being on Other Foot, or what it would be like if they were Palestinians.

If this murder had taken place inside of Israel, a so-called democratic free country, that a Palestinian teenager had stabbed to death a Jewish honor roll student at a track meet, everyone knows all hell would break loose. Of course, the defense argues that maybe the Palestinian (Karmelo Anthony) was also an honor roll student (maybe in a school giving easy A’s for athletes). Grades are not the point here. If the Israelis are willing to kill 50,000 people over a massacre (for which they were partially responsible for), if they had destroyed and gutted the Gaza Strip over such incident, then it is a safe bet that Karmelo Anthony the Palestinian would be locked away without bail, and he might even be dead from torture long before receiving a fair trial. There would be no Go Fund Me for any person in the Anthony family; most likely, the IDF would haul the rest of the family to the brig as well. They would no longer have a house to call home, and they would no longer have any form of citizenship. Even the siblings of Karmelo would be beaten and punished or sent to Gaza to die.

But the NWO has at its root the worst kinds of divisiveness, because their goal is most likely to throw our society into irreparable chaos and confusion, and what better way to do this than using the willing race stooges and natural born agitators? This is why we concurr with Henry Makow, PhD in his recent entry, “April 20 — Trump’s Role is to Discredit MAGA.” His thesis: By using the dialectic of the right, adopting the rhetoric and their memes, Trump undermines the democratic base by making his dogma (Project 2025) the law. He is skipping the Legislature. His style is overtly authoritarian, and it is rubbing off on GOP House Speaker Mike Johnson, on VP JD Vance, and even on Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt (visible examples of bossy, peremptory manners).

Pride and smugness are also associated qualities, and if unchecked, it will create disenchantment among Trump’s voters. For instance, the opportunity to meet Pope Francis is the opportunity of a lifetime, and usually the appointment is met with extreme care, unction, and attention to requisite forms of etiquette. JD Vance’s vulgar “drop-in visit” to the Papal home will not go over well with many conservative Catholics or just Catholics in general. Vance quipped on Twitter that he loved “doing his job” stopping in Rome, but there are some comments about his “careerism.” First, if you are doing a job on behalf of America, then you must do it with all seriousness, not as if this were a stop at the haberdasher. Second, you had to drag all your family there including an entourage of at least ten vehicles, so it didn’t actually look like an official meeting, rather it appeared to be a VIP family tour around the Vatican. Third, when Vance was ushered in to see the Pope, he did not bow, clasp his hands, address the Pope as “His Holiness” or even greet him by his proper title, “Pope Francis.” In short, it was quite insulting because understanding the extent of the Pope’s anguish and pain, a normal parishioner would have been glad to kneel and kiss his hand. Fourth, where is your gift to the Pope? Normally the custom includes an exchange of gifts, such as when the Pope held an outdoor audience, and people lined up to offer their gifts. Vance was so cheap he actually forgot about that, or else, being filled with his own smugness, he probably thinks that “he is gracing the Pope with his presence.”

All this lack of tact, lack of proper foresight and planning, presents America in a bad light compared to the respect and warmth and understanding displayed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his greetings with Pope Francis at the G7 Summit in Apulia, Italy in June 2024. The Newsable Asiannet News reported on the event in “When Pope Francis met PM Modi: One historic meeting and a missed trip to India,” which recently reposted at MSN.com. PM Modi actually is depicted bowing, head down, hands clasped, and behaving most cordially and graciously, including inviting the Pope to visit him in India.

“The meeting reflected not just a diplomatic courtesy but also a mutual respect between the secular leadership of the world’s largest democracy and the spiritual authority of over a billion Catholics.”

Of course the Vance family were also partially on vacation to India on the same whirlwind tour this past week, after stopping in Rome, so perhaps the VP is a little run down taking turns carrying one of the three children. It seems that the preference of the family was that to look intimate, they could not push the children along in strollers. This, and the lack of sleep, might have helped explain his general lack of grace and decorum, rather than reflecting Vance’s noveau-riche transition from “Hill-Billy” to Peter Thiel sharpie.

Pope Francis Passes Away Next Morning After Easter Celebration

For the billionaire exploitative class, their true colors often shine through the facade, and whether it is Greenland, or Canada, or Panama, or Israel, or China, or the Vatican, the underlying interest is either a display of wealth or to discover what there is to mine from the country under its lens. It is totally in the speculative billionaire interest to keep the little citizens mired in distractionary quarrels, so that they can continue carrying on with the AI revolution and bitcoin speculation schemes. However according to the Buddhist perspective, this addiction to greed, arrogance, ignorance, lack of faith, and lack of love is what keeps humanity so imbalanced these days. It might sound rather Universalist and over-generalized, but that is the root of the problem with today’s society in America is that we are being reared to be judgmental straight from the crib. Where once there was a sense of innocence, wonder, appreciation, and respect with regard to Nature, Humankind, and the Cosmos, today there is a crass disregard, dismissiveness, and what replaces it is the greed of conquest. Americans must always be First! Even amongst ourselves! We will kill and stab our way to Greatness!

Repentance is the Only Way to Hope

There is also a lot of rank discussion over the merits of the Pope and the Catholic Church, and whether or not the Pope was a genuine person or not. For instance, by most accounts he always appeared as a compassionate caring person, yet somewhat profound in his writings. On the other hand, politically, others point out that he was a poor administrator, unable to really eliminate those sinners among the Church’s ranks, those causing so much harm and scandal. The Pope’s writings do reveal a person who had a noble heart

In his book, Reflections on the Sunday Gospel, he even wrote an entry for Easter Monday, that would be the day of his passing, “The Sepulchre is Not the Last Word!” In Matthew 28:8-15, the disciples and the women who took care of Jesus were challenged by the chief priests and elders who wanted to portray the Risen Lord as a hoax. But on the “Monday of the Angel,” the homily emphasizes that the two Marys were to obey the Angel and go quickly and tell the disciples that he had been raised from the dead. It was the miracle of the resurrection and sightings of Jesus that would spread like wildfire. This is what gives us hope and spirit to act, Pope Francis emphasizes, that there is life, that life is born:

“In light of this event, which constitutes the true and real news of history and the cosmos, we are called to be new men and women in accordance with the Spirit, confirming the value of life. There is life! This is already the beginning of rebirth! We will be men and women of resurrection, men and women of life, if in the midst of the events that afflict the world—there are many of them today—in the midst of worldliness which distances us from God, we will know how to offer gestures of solidarity and gestures of welcome, strengthening the universal desire for peace and the hope for an environment free from degradation. These are common and human signs, which if supported and kept alive by faith in the Risen Lord, acquire a power that is well beyond our abilities. Prayer to Mother Mary

It is disappointing that Pastor Todd Fink, in his insightful tours of the Holy Land, still downplays the role of the Virgin Mary for an intercessor. Fink even admonishes Catholics asserting that we do not need to pray to her, only to Jesus. However this view appears to seal off the feminine dimension so vital to nurturing daily spirituality. If Eve had erred, then Mary is her counterbalance, and such a divine creation who embodies the essence of Christ for all time, is the collective mother for asking prayer and petitioning to.

Pope Francis composed this prayer to Mother Mary for Easter Monday:

“May the Virgin Mary, silent witness of the death and Resurrection of her Son Jesus, help us to be clear signs of the Risen Christ amid the affairs of the world, so that those who suffer tribulation and difficulties do not fall victim to pessimism, defeat, and resignation, but find in us many brothers and sisters who offer them support and solace. May our Mother help us to believe firmly in the Resurrection of Jesus: Jesus is Risen; he is alive here among us, and this is a worthy mystery of salvation with the ability to transform hearts and lives. May she intercede especially for the persecuted and oppressed Christian communities which, in many parts of the world today, are called to a more difficult and courageous testimony.” — Pope Francis, Easter Monday

St. Mary was there at the Annunciation, she was witness to her son’s flowering ministry, and she was there during his Stations of the Cross, so it is fitting that she is also there at the Resurrection, born figuratively into a new Life, because Catholics also believe that she rose to Heaven in the Assumption.

Pope Francis’s belief in St. Mary is so indomitable that he specifically requests to be buried at the Basilica of St. Mary Major, “a church he visited more than 100 times during his papacy, before and after international trips, in devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.”

According to Catholic News Agency, from April 22 – 25, the mortal remains of Pope Francis will lie in state at St. Peter’s Basilica, where the faithful can pay their final respects. The funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, April 26, at 10 a.m. in St. Peter’s Square, the Vatican announced on April 22nd. Many heads of state, including the U.S. President, religious leaders, and thousands of faithful from around the world are expected to attend.

“The funeral is the first in nine days of Masses offered for the repose of his soul, known as the ‘Novendiales.’ Each day, a cardinal chosen by the late pope will preside over a Requiem Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica,” states Catholic News Agency. However many faithful are already praying daily Rosary for the respite of his soul on his journey to heaven, and so there will be approximately two weeks of official mourning for the late Pope Francis.
